University of Messina Language Centre
Promotion of Language Teaching and Research
The University Language Centre (C.L.A.) is a service dedicated to promoting teaching and research in the study, teaching, and learning of languages at the University of Messina. Open to students, teaching staff, and external users, the C.L.A. operates in compliance with the principles established by art. 2 of the University Statute (Rector's Decree No. 1244 of May 14, 2012, and subsequent amendments).
According to this Statute, the University of Messina guarantees the free exercise of teaching and scientific research activities and promotes the right to study (paragraph 1). Furthermore, it organizes and develops teaching and research activities, fostering their integration and providing the necessary means and services (paragraph 2).
The C.L.A. also meets the needs expressed in art. 4, paragraph 1, of the University Statute, which commits the University to promote teaching and other educational activities in a foreign language.
To ensure better rationalization and sustainability of services, the C.L.A. may also operate in collaboration with other Universities, as well as public and private entities, through specific associative or federated bodies, based on specific agreements approved by the governing bodies of the University.
The CLA is a member of AICLU (Italian Association of University Language Centres)
